Western Riding

Western Riding is a style of horseback riding which evolved from the ranching traditions brought to the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors, and both equipment and riding style evolved to meet the working needs of the cowboy in the American West. This style offers many events for competitive minded riders, and a pleasant, functional style for those just wanting to enjoy their horse.

English Riding

Including both beauty and excitement, the English disciplines offer many choices. Dressage has been called ballet on horseback. At the lower levels, it is a synchronization of horse and rider while moving through the basic school figures. At the higher levels, the precision of the movements are breathtaking.

One of the most thrilling events in the equine world is jumping. Jumping involves riding the horse over obstacles that are either natural or man-made in a specific order or course. Eventing or Combined training includes a cross country phase, a stadium jumping phase and a dressage phase, and is an Olympic event.
